fox

A perfect little example of the kind of crap that FOXNews attempts to pass off as journalism.

It seems some lady was driving around in her monster truck (she keeps saying she couldn't tell what was going on because she is "so high up") with a couple of Bush stickers on the back when she was accosted by another driver, who honked his horn, pointed, and showed her a handmade sign that said, "Never forget Bush's illegal oil war murdered thousands in Iraq."

There was a nasty exchange that resulted in this guy getting out of his car and chasing her. No physical contact was described.

Your basic difference of opinion, right?

Well, as the lady is telling her story, the host keeps referring to the man's actions as "trying to run you off the road." He asks her if the man could see that she had children in the car ("No, I'm too high up."), because then his "running her off the road" would be that much worse.

She never corrects him that nobody tried to "run her off the road." There is never any mention, except from the host, of her being in any physical danger.

Oh, and she allows that "she might have given him the finger." The host doesn't seem to think that could be relevant to the incident.

Of course, the guy getting out of his car and chasing her is ridiculous, and his little sign is a bit over the top, but the point here is that FOX sucks. They're dirty liars.

FOX sucks.

I am very glad that you do look at other news sources beside the Communist Post (Washington Post) and the Communist News Network (CNN) I think they suck but I still check out what they say.
It also surprises me that some liberals get so mad at a bumper sticker. What ever happened to civil discourse? It kind of happens on the internet, but I think that it does not get too nasty becuase people don't have to see one another up close.

Wow Mike, you really do sounds like a fucking moron. I don't have to see you to know that you are just another NASCAR puke that can't read the writing on the wall. If you actually read the post, your one brain cell would have figured out that is exactly what he is trying to tell you. "Your basic difference of opinion, right?". Please for the love of god, don't breed. We don't want a bunch of dumb fuck little mikes running around.

You know why we're mad, Mike? Because you, and all of you who voted for Bush, screwed the rest of us (and the rest of the world) with your stupidity and ignorance! Civil discourse? It's beyond that, man! You need to be defeated! Painfully defeated!

By the way, if you don't know what communism really is, don't throw it around like a freaking moron! (Well, but you sounded like you voted for Bush, so you are a freaking moron, too late!)

All the anger I feel from you two is wonderful. You should put that aggresion to good use and join the military. They could help you channel you name calling powers for good instead of evil.
As for communism, it tends to be on the left of the political spectrum. Therefore with the Washington Post, and CNN both leaning a little left, I throw out the word as a tounge in cheek tag.
I am pretty sarcastic at times, But I don't remember screwing either of you two.
Cam and Kevin, as I have said in other posts, when liberals get mad they call people names, and attempt (feebily) to insult them. As for "painfully defeating" me... what the hell are you talking about?

The point here is that the FOX anchor portrayed this incident as something other than what it was. He made a point of using the phrase, "running you off the road" several times, despite absolutely no evidence that such a thing happened. In other words, he lied.

As for the tired "liberal media" canard, it's just silly. CNN liberal? Please.

CNN Left of center, yes. Maybe not to the extreme as Pravda in the 80's though.

I do like reading this blog, mostly becuase it is well written. (that would be a compliment for Anthony, although initailly you did call me bad names, that has since stopped) I don't like trying to have dialogs with people who get so angry that they must resort to the 3rd grade insults. I try to stay off that plain myself.

Basic difference of opinion... How is chasing someone over a bumper sticker even normal?

CAM:
As for NASCAR... How you can associate the most popular spectator sport(?) in America with politics? Unless the Majority of people in the U.S. disagree with you, that I could understand. But no, I don't watch NASCAR or wear those funny multi-colored jackets those fans are apt to wear. Not that there is anything wrong with wearing a rainbow colored Dupont racing jacket.

Kevin is also angry that Gus Hall did not get on all the ballots this year (if you didn't know he had a habit of running under the communist party in the U.S. for President.)
Insults...bad
Sarcasm...good
Spelling sometimes bad...

I disagree with your assessment of CNN's position. They are "left" only in comparison to a lot of the other stuff out there these days. I'd say at best they're pretty centrist, but if pressed I'd just say that they mostly just plain suck. Whatever side they may appear to be on, they seem to have largely given up on actual journalism along with the rest of the industry. News is a business now, and ratings are king.

The line, "You basic difference of opinion" in the original post was a joke. Obviously, this was not a civil discussion between the two people in this story. I don't defend the actions of the guy who chased her car in any way. He acted like an idiot. My only point was that the FOX interviewer skewed the events in favor of the woman with the pro-Bush sticker. He glossed over her part in the altercation (she "may have" given the man the finger) and baselessly exaggerated the other party's actions (he was trying to "run her off the road").

There are plenty of stories of conservatives getting angry with liberals for their bumper stickers (one from last year where a woman was fired for her Kerry sticker), so neither side has any monopoly on civil discourse. When people disagree about important issues, they get angry. The man wasn't getting mad "at a bumper sticker," but as Kevin pointed out he was responding to what the sticker represented to him.

I appreciate the compliment about my writing and my blog.
