Sharon Stone is an Idiot

Unfortunately, Jon Stewart's interview with Sharon Stone from a couple nights ago isn't online. Probably because her publicist realized that she came off like a vapid, unfunny hooker, and had better sense than to let them post it.

She thought she was standing up to Stewart, but he was toying with her on 800 levels she had no idea about. And that's not to mention how unbelievably stupid her new movie—Basic Instinct 2, yes, seriously—is sure to be.

Carry on.

ITMFA Indeed

Today (or yesterday) marks the official re-re-launch of the ITMFA website. Dan was nice enough to link to the Slapnose ITMFA store from the official site and from the Slog, so my traffic nearly quadrupled today and the shirts are going like hotshirts!

Go ITMFA Go.

Oh, and in other news, Andy Card resigns, paving the way for the promotion of Josh Bolten, who has managed the budget for the White House for a few years. Bang up job he's done, too. It's all part of the administration's plan to get tough and show some accountability by letting people no one's ever heard of resign, promoting other incompetents to take their places, and leaving all the real brokers of evil, evil power right where they've been all along. And the press laps it up and the masses are satisfied.

Saturday Mourning

The Stranger's Tom Francis and Megan Seling have written what must be the best piece on the shooting so far, and it's hard to imagine anyone else topping it, especially in this town.

Also of interest, the 9-1-1 logs from that morning.

Seven Dead in Seattle Shooting

Seattle is a very safe city by any measure, but last night someone walked into a party about 10 blocks from our house and executed six people before killing himself. I was just down at the house where the Mayor and Chief of Police gave a press conference. The house is on our regular running loop, we run right by several times a week.

Anyway, the city is abuzz with the whole thing, and of course Liz and I both work for local media outlets, so we're right in the middle of it.

Slog: The Stranger's blog is covering the story in real time.

This is Not a Clash of Civilizations

Via Slog..

Watch this video. It's one of the most meaningful and accurate tirades against the current state of affairs I've seen. Amazing.
