The Good Ole Days
Personal statement of the Sheriff of Marshall County, Alabama.
Notice that his pining for the good old days of 1940s Alabama is missing one important fact of life at that time and place. I wonder what that could be...
Judging from the incredible diversity displayed in the department photo, I think Sherriff Holcomb knows what I'm talking about.
Ah yes.. the good old days.

That's snide of you. If you're going to accuse someone of something horrible why don't you just come out with it? This isn't the UK, our libel laws are still relatively toothless.

Oh please, Fritz. This man is pining for an imaginary idyllic past that, while it may have seemed great to him, was a horribly oppressive time for many others in his beloved state, and elsewhere.
Considering his explicit anti-gay attitudes and the rest of his nonsense, it's not unreasonable to assume that he may be a bit less than enlightened on racial equality issues as well. I don't know the man, obviously, so I can't say he's a racist for sure, but I'd put pretty good odds on it.
